How to choose

These books share the humor and heartbreak of The Fault in Our Stars, but they differ in weight. For more John Green, Looking for Alaska is the closest in spirit, and Turtles All the Way Down is a quieter story about anxiety. Eleanor & Park is the most tender love story of the group, though it includes bullying and abuse. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is the funniest, and Everything, Everything is the lightest and quickest. All the Bright Places is the heaviest and deals with suicide, so check content notes before you start. Me Before You is for adults and takes up disability and end-of-life choices. Keep tissues nearby for several of them.
